What straps or rope should i use for wrapping up rolls of for example tarp, canvas or sleeping bags? (to keep them from rolling out) Assuming they don't come with any straps with them.

The most important part is a place to attach them to the bag. Locate that first then use whatever. You can by nylon webbing and hardware from dutchwaregear.com under the make your own gear tab

get a compression sack. last thing you want is dense brush cutting up your shit. Damages your gear and leaves a shitton of litter/waste.

To answer your actual question I use coghlan's straps they sell. I also got some fancy ultra-light^tm straps for cheap in a clearance bin somewhere that are not necessary.

For a suggestion: your sleeping bag and tarp shelter should be pack-able and go inside your bag. When I carry a foam pad like in OP I attach it externally to top or bottom like so.
