Had long hair for about 5 years and honestly it’s more of a hindrance in an ‘out’ setting.
Constantly gets in your eyes and makes it more difficult to indentify ticks, it’s just an additional burden.
I think it’s more so identified as outdoorsy because of media than anything else.
Short-shaved hair is ideal and requires little to no maintenance.

I disagree. it protects your skin from the sun. during the nights it's much warmer with long hair. It's also a natural camoflauge.
If it gets in the way during the day, just tie a pony
but above all, it makes a man look much more intimidating.
That is, if you have a full beard too, other wise you look like a fag

Beards are ok, but best feeling is after growing it out a bit, then trimming it to half length.
Nice and soft.
When it comes to /out/ though, carry a grooming kit to take care of it. comb, scissors, the like.

You mean your neck and mayyyyybe the sides of your face, a hat does a much better job with none of downsides to hair, same goes for any ‘warmth’ it provides at night.
Also camouflage is a dumb argument, what serves best camo is masking your silhouette which long hair does no favors for.

I used to, but I shaved that off too when it started thinning too much. I'd rather look like Yul Brynner than Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's cooler in summer, a lot lower maintenance, and it turns out there are as many girls who like the look as liked long hair. The only thing I really miss was that having a ponytail was good for flicking circling deerflies away.

Had long hair past my nipples... was pretty sweet, but the maintenance is a drag. Now I shave my head with a 1/16" electric clipper that cost $15.
When your hair gets wet, it STAYS wet. Much warmer to just wear a beanie.
Also you never ever have to worry about your hair getting in the way, getting damaged, getting pulled, nothing.

I grow my hair out and donate it to Wigs for Kids. Takes ~2.5 years to grow long enough. I've also had a long beard for the past 8 years, so I look pretty shaggy by the time I donate my hair.

Fun fact: Alexander the Great was clean shaven as a dig at his father, Philip II, who had a congenital defect that fucked his face up a little. Philip grew a full beard to cover it, but Alexander had perfect features and flaunted it.
