no shorts, gaiters if you're walking through lots of grass or thick underbrush, every time you get through a thicket stop and check yourself. ticks can be spotted fairly easily climbing up your legs if you take the time to inspect

and of course try to check yourself over before bed. if you let the little shits hide from you before you sleep they're going to be on you for many hours, increasing the risk of them passing Lyme or similar

most of the time when I go into my woods, since theres these little faggots ticks smaller than seed ticks, I have to spend half an hour getting all of them off, they're plentiful on my ankles when I walk through tall grass or brush.

Ticks were bad in my area this year, especially back in spring. Went on lots of hikes with pants and long socks and still caught them crawling on me. I bought this from a CVS on a whim and never saw them again. Kinda pricey but was well worth it IMO.

basically what other anons already said, Tick Spray, don't show a lot of skin, and check yourself before you wreck yourself. Or go hiking in the winter, usually even the last of ticks fuck off during the colder months of autumn

ive heard of this trick where you put a handkerchief on an ant heap, causing ants to attack the handkerchief and release attack pheromones, which other bugs tend to stay away from. Has any anon actually tried this? It seems like a very neat chemical free way to keep mosquitos and maybe also ticks away.

I put a few drops of vinegar in my dog's water bowl and it prevents ticks from biting, and the few ones that do instantly dry up. Dog smells better too.

I have spent 30 nights innawoods this year and havent had a single tick. I live in PA, only had one rick my whole life and have spent a lot of time innawoods. And i open tarp camp most of the time. I think my blood type repels ticks

I live in CA. Went on a woods hike with my dog and he had 80+ ticks on him by the end of it. Felt so bad. Fuck ticks.

I have a question about ticks. When I was a kid, my friends and I were playing in the woods and I swear I stepped wherever they stepped but all of a sudden thousands of ticks started crawling up both of my legs.. I’ll never forget that, it was like a wave of black climbing up my legs. I was 7 years old. Did I step in a nest or something? I’ve never heard of anyone with the same experience so I’m really confused
