My edc at work is a Leatherman juice S2. Of I need anything bigger I grab actual tools. If I’m hiking I use a Micra.

Curious though: how do people cut odd shapes of moleskin, duct tape, or leukotape without scissors?

What do you intend to use it for? Since you are here and not on /k/ I assume you mean as a woods knife, in which case it is a Leatherman or Swistool hands down. For a minimalist city edc tho, I would go for SAK or similar design, depending on the tools available.

You are comparing an SAK with a regular pocket knive, just to get sth anti-American out. Pretty weak.

As for your question: I own both a Leatherman Surge and two SAKs. The Surge has massive pliers and great blades and an awesome pair of scissors. No SAK can compete with the size and thus its power. But you won't put it in your jeans because it weighs more than a small rabbit. The SAK works perfect for me most of the time, it's enough. Like this anon said

I got the Rebar to satisfy my multi tool itch and even though its a bit more expensive here in EU, the Leatherman impressed me with the build quality so far.

Victorinox is great dont get me wrong, and the Swiss Tool was some 20-30 EUR more expensive than the Rebar, that would be the only difference between the two IMHO.

You can find US army surplus "demo" knives pretty cheap. Made by Camillus; stainless steel, knife blade, can opener, bottle opener/screwdriver, awl, very solid construction with a huge lanyard loop. Excellent pocket knives.
