just got back from an /out/ing, I collected hazelnuts in the woods and these are left over. They're much tastier than cultivated ones, albeit smaller. I plan on cracking these and toasting them.

Got some pawpaws. They were fairly hard, but some of them actually ripened up and got soft, though I'm not sure if the flavor fully developed. Others never quite got there.

Also found some other miscellaneous stuff. Chicken of the woods, pecans, and a persimmon. There's plenty more persimmons out there, I just haven't gone out to get them yet.

And the muscadine jam for the season. Still have probably half a gallon of grapes I need to process, which I suspect should make about another 3 pints, and I've already given away 4 or so. Pretty good amount, I'd say.
