Every year after hunting season is over and the forage is getting extremely sparce I like to put out hay salt and grain for the deer. I buy 5 bags of corn, and bag of wheat, 2 bag of sweet feed and a bag of sunflower seeds and mix them up. 3 bales of hay and a 5 gallon bucket of grain a week from mid January till the green starts to come out again. I also have been inoculating logs for years with various mushrooms. Finally I've been taking used Christmas trees for years and leaving them on edges of feilds for rabbits, but I'm running out of places for that. Been trying to think up ways to help pheasants since their numbers have been down the last several years but haven't done anything more than googling at this point.

Nice anon. The problem with some upland birds trying to bolster the populations is they get ate by varmints too fast. You get the coyotes nice and fat but the pheasant or chukker population stays the same

That's what I've been reading. I've got an acre in my back pasture that I've been thinking of fencing off with 5x5x60 fence for the pheasants. Should be plenty of space for them, I'd put in sorgum/oat/alfalfa/native grasses/peas and a patch of sparce sunflowers and maybe a couple trees to offer roosting/excape options should something clear the fence. Only thing stopping me is setting aside the land, I only have 13 acres and only 7 are suitable for pasture I'm not sure I want to shrink it any more than that. It's the perfect spot though, good high ground on the edge of an 80 acre clump of trees on one side and a corn field on the other. I know it's not the best option but it's the best option I have the funds and resources to do. Hell if I can get just two hens a comfortable nesting spot that would be huge since I could only find 4 hens this spring.

I always am on my way out before the weekend. Some of these derelicts will have taken friday off and will have made it to the trailhead as I am leaving. I walk to the entrance of the parking lot with my pack scanning as I go along. If I need to scan any further I drop my pack, walk around and act like I’m stretching for a the drive home. Once Ive selected my target I carry my back pack by the handle towards it while rooting through it, suddenly I’ll drop my bag and the contents will flop out near one of the tires, as I am on my hands and knees picking it up I’m so close to their tires with knife in hand. I always puncture between the tread. You can read reviews in google maps about state parks, trails etc. many of them will say *1 star* nice park but the road gave me a flat etc etc. idk if these are all me but I have never had a flat from a gravel road and if you have lol

Reduse, reuse, recycle, and I am pretty autistic about them (cold house, cold showers, unplug everything not in use, /diy/, and I break down even pens and lighters and take a bag to grab plastic when I walk my dog, hike or bike.

Also paying my DNR licensing fees, and occasional donations to sportsmen causes.

Mother Nature is still gonna kill me, but I want some Karma.
