WTF does it mean now?
Any good collections of photos of ground level?
Shouldn't there be a nice big fat online "historical photo record" of at least the major areas?
If it was lots of built up brush overgrowth being finally cleared by intense fires, will that mean the dirt will be grass and pasture for the next few years and will that in turn mean big increase in grass fueled animals like deer and great hunting in 2-3 years?
Will mud-slides be a big deal? Shouldn't all the equally overgrown bush root structures be fully intact for ground holding for a couple years even if plant dead (and don't they almost all start growing back from surviving roots)?
Should the Govt drop grass or clover seeds on affected areas? Will Govts especially CA fuck up the aftermath as bad as they fucked up the leading up to?
Will freshly cleared economically useless former high chaparral now be converted to lumber growth pine tree farms, along with becoming pasture until trees get bigger in few decades?
Aren't there a whole slew of different "zones" of different types of burned brush with diff recovery arcs?
What about birds (and bats, and bugs)?
