>>1906795>>1902555I'm old enough to remember when some of this was of this was 'relevant' booby trapping door locks whit home made ammonium triiodide so they blow out when someone turns the key, using thermite to burn into cashboxes of remote payphones, the explosives stuff was a bit difficult as at the time a lot of the off the shelf fertilisers had been cut with fire suppressants as the IRA were blowing up shopping centres for fun (when I was a kid terrorists wore a balaclava and spoke with a nor'n Irish accent) availability of materials was also a BIG problem, here in the UK, at the time (early 90s) we had no internet really to research stuff and places just didn't sell a lot of (if any) it off the shelf at hardware/agricultural stores
The biggest problem is it assumes a certain level of understanding of what I guess was basic practical chemistry that has been lost and doesn't explain without that pretty much all of it is unsafe to try. most of it was just mischief ideas iirc. nothing you could topple governments with but you could make your house a goddamn fortress if you were determined
The phreaking stuff wasn't any use in the UK, but we were able to use the concepts it detailed to mess with our secondary school's internal phone system, just basic stuff like creating loops and checking voicemails, and really we became far more adept in accessing unsecured hard drives to mess with small stuff (timetables and checking who was getting in trouble mainly) in a typically juvenile way
