>>1903435I have a weird story that I don´t mind sharing. My family owns a house on a lovely little village in the countryside, on southern europe. One night, wanting to get away from the whole clan on a holiday reunion, went to have a stroll and look at the stars. Tough luck, it was a clear night with a full moon so bright few stars could be seen. No problem, great visibility. Started to walk on one of the usual dirt roads, mainly farmland with pockets of trees here and there where land is too rocky for farming (there is a very thick forest near, and around the river vegetation is so thick you can´t walk out of the paths, it´s a very fertile area). After walking about half an hour on an unusual path (we usually deviate earlier to a more vegetated area, but I didn´t want to go there at night, having no flashlight with me), I suddenly stopped. I was on a very clear area, just bare land around me and a big tree on the roadside 20 meters before me. I didn´t understand why I stopped, but suddenly I was scared as fuck, fully alert. There was nothing in sight, just barren land, silver from moonlight, and on the shadows of the tree nothing could be seen, but I couldn´t stop glaring the shadows and when consciously trying to go further my feet were nailed on the floor. It was a fully animal response, and only when I started to go back they moved (actually, I had to restrain from running), looking behind me at all times. It wasn´t until I was back at the village that I started to feel at ease. I kinda believe it was my athropied urbanite senses picking something and blowing it out of proportion, but nonetheless one of the scariest moments of my life.
