Since being in self-isolation from catching the 'rona, I've realised I should spend more time /out/side after quarantine, but I have largely lived in the suburbs for most of my life so don't know much.

I've got some experience with camping (was in the Scouts as a kid but remember nothing) and overnight hiking (Duke of Edinburgh award).

Where should I begin in terms of learning the basics in case I want to go /out/ spontaneously? What things are memes like Paracord that I should avoid?
