I don’t hike with a gun because I’ve never seen a need for it. There are no meth labs here (which I could see as a legitimate concern for some) and wild animals aren’t a threat. I’m able to observe reality and make the correct choice. I own a shotgun but I have no plans to take it hiking. How could I be anti-gun or afraid of guns?

Fat men have an inability to observe reality. Being overweight destroys your health and your happiness, causes a slew of side effects like ED, and is a conscious choice you make. You chose to be fat. If you were able to examine your life from the outside, you wouldn’t be fat, and you’d understand why guns aren’t effective (or even needed) as bear protection.

I can point out that every proffessional who works in grizzly country AND every hunter that I know all carry bear spray. Why would they if it doesnt work? but thats just anecdotal...stick the facts which show that on average bear spray is more effective as detering a charging grizzly bear. Every encounter is different but the data doesnt lie. If you can provide evidence to support your opinion- please do so...otherwise you have nothing but your incredulous opinion...

Honestly don’t be an idiot, be loud and make yourself big, and for most bears you’ll be fine.

If you come across a pissed off mother grizzly with cubs or a male grizzly during the feeding season in Alaska you’re grade A fucked unless you have a 12 gauge or a god killer.

Bears are usually more curious or afraid of us. If you’re not leaving bacon grease out at your campsite or wearing AXE ™ while in the backcountry you’ll be fine.
