Figure this is probably the best thread to ask in but also posting to qtddtot:
I have cooked over open flames before and I have cooked over coals.
I recently got a soleader portable wood stove and used it for the first time to boil water in my mess kit. I scrubbed both down with dishsoap and water afterwords. My stove has picked up a slight odor and my mess kit has a very strong odor after multiple cleanings that I have never quite smelled before. It isn't quite a woodsmoke smell, nor a pine or cedar smell. It is strong outside and to have it with me in any sort of confined space (car, tent, small room) for a while it is making me feel sick. Nausea, headache, sore throat/heartburn. Does anyone have any idea what I might be smelling? Any suggestions on getting rid of the smell?
