Here's some actually useful /out/door advice.
When you have caught wild game, i.e bushmeat whether its fish, fowl, rodent or big game,
boil that meat ! Do not cook it over an open fire.
You will lose a lot of fat that way, and scorch the outside while the inside can remain raw and kill you.
Boil the meat so you keep the fats in the broth, bacteria and parasites are rendered futile and then you can still roast it over coals if you want extra flavor.
DON'T stick it on a stick and roast it over an open fire like they do in hollywood.
