>>1905038Assuming you have a ruck that you like, and assuming that ruck has some kind of frame, and finally assuming you know how to wear the ruck; the name of the game becomes centering and lifting the highest weight items in your pack to the highest position they can be. Ideally you get your high weight items at or above shoulder level. Sometimes this isn’t an option and can make slipping a rain cover over your gear difficult. What I did with my ULA pack was to load white fuel cans and sleeping bag at the bottom of my ruck, the center my bear can on top of those, with my bivy tent on the right and item bags on the left. I had a little room at the top used for clothing that goes on and off during the day; down jacket, buff, head rag, etc. unless you carry your days food in side pouches, you are gonna want primary access priority for the bear can. What I mean is that you will want to be able to access it as easily as possible as you are going g to be needing to get into it more than say your tent bag. Remember to get good hip pads anon, like 75% of the ruck weight should be on your hips, the rest on the shoulders .
