There's tons of trails in Allegheny. Just get out there - it's beautiful in that area right now.

You can primitive camp anywhere in these state parks for 1 night without a permit
McConnels Mill if you go from parking lot to parking lot is 16 miles
ANF is a national forest so it’s open for camping
There are a couple state parks that Allow camping but i forget them
You can hike the laurel highland hiking trail (camp sites every 6 miles require a reservation, tent sights, and 5-6 lean to shelters; which cost more)

Minister creek trail in the allegheny national forest has a campsite at the far end of the north loop perfect for one night or you could maybe get on the nearby north country trail to extend your trip.

Awesome great tips. Unfortunately will only be able to camp one night- will be car camping Friday night on the border of W Pa and WV and then spending all sat and sun backpacking. Will look into these, anon finally came through!

Ive driven through it seems pretty remove and unloved(poorly maintained) I would head west to the potomac state forest lostland run trail has a shelter you can camp at.
