Yes, central Europe is one of the most densely populated areas on the planet, and yes, Americans have it objectively better when it comes to /out/ing but don't fool yourself: most Americans don't live next to the AT and instead drive for hours and hours and hours (or even fly) just to get to their holiday destination. By comparison you have it relatively easy: the Alps may not be as wild as some people think but you're a few hours drive from the depth of the Alps, where the least known and least touristy areas are.
Alps aside, in Europe there's Norway, Sweden, and Finland all of which have nothing to envy the rest of the world; Spain is great if you like warmer climates (Corsica and Sardinia too but smaller); the Carpathians and Dinaric Alps are very underrated; the Apennines, Scotland, Iceland are also ok. Enjoy what you have before drooling over others have, and if that's really not enough for you then move.
