Looked through a couple articles, couldn't really find too many details about the trail she intended to hike but I think she's full of shit.
>The NPS said she had been dropped off by a private shuttle at the Grotto parking area of the park
>Authorities said Courtier was found half a mile from where a shuttle had dropped her off on Oct. 6.
A half mile from the Grotto doesn't even get you to the Angels Landing switchbacks (at the spot circled in red), or that far onto the Emerald Pools trail. Both of those trails are heavily trafficked, and the road is visible and audible from both trails as well. Obviously that's where she was found, possibly not where she was headed, but if she really injured her head early on the hike like the story goes, it's very unlikely she was far from a heavily trafficked trail when it happened. Someone would have noticed.
Her story also says she stayed near a river. I'm not as familiar with the west rim trail as the east rim trail, but I don't believe there's a stream near where Angels Landing forks into the west rim trail, so that eliminates her getting lost on a longer, less trafficked trail. If the river she drank from is the Virgin River itself, there's no way she was that far from the road because the road through the main canyon parallels the river.
TL;DR I call bullshit
