I am tired of carrying a full ass camelback with me, I just want to take my 32 oz and use some kind of water filtration system as there is regularly available water were I am t. floridian

Pic related isn’t convenient. I’m aware there exists lifestraw compatible water bottles but they’re still not as convenient as filtering a liter of water with a sawyer squeeze directly into a water bottle and chugging as fast or slow as you want, or attaching a sawyer directly to a smart water bottle and drinking normally, especially when the price is only marginally more for a sawyer

Kindly point me to something with a carbon filter that's cheaper and/or with larger capacity.
I'm not going to pump entire rivers through mine and I'm not particularly worried about viruses, I can always boil the water after filtering. But you can't boil off heavy metals or pesticides and those actually are a risk in the waters in my area.

Depends on where you live, and what wilderness is near you. I'm in ohio and I wouldn't touch any of the water in our state parks even with filtration and purifcation. Too many chemicals from the agriculture leach into the groundwater. Even going to Wayne National Forest in SE Ohio, the biggest piece of wilderness in the state, you can't drink the water because of agricultural chemicals. So you're stuck carrying massive amounts of water.

So what would be proper "step-by-step"? (Pardon my ESL, Poland here)
1. Preferably find a water from a running stream, as it could simply have less shit.
2. Gather water into a bottle.
3. Use any cloth to just filter out bigger residue (leaves, sand) (obviously you would need more than one bottle)
4. Filter it through this sawyer(TM) filtration or any other stuff like that.
5. Use water purification tablets (the prescription tells how much tabs per liter, and how long to wait)

Questions:
- Is it allowed to carry a small gas applications like pic rel in parks in US?
- If I could boil the water, then can I skip the filtration? Or doesn't hurt doing both?

That was my immediate plan until I thought about how much gunk is in the water, so then I figured I'd run it through a shirt first and then boil the water, then hang up the shirt in the river to get most of it off after it concentrates, then do it again with more water.

The biggest issue with most common filtration systems are that they're ceramic - great for removing particulates (even as small as viruses), but are generally poor at removing chemical contamination. This is based. If you use common sense in where you are and what the water looks like, you don't need to filter like 75% of the time. I spent a month car camping and did not concern myself with filtering most of the time, no shitz ever.

That being said there were times I DID need to filter, and I used a sawyer mini.
