Anyone have some information about camouflage?
For example, how would wearing all black do? I'd think it's the best for night time, but would it also be usable during the day (shadows)?
Or how much of an improvement is it to camouflage your shelter with pic related?
Or what about camouflage with natural materials?

all black is garbage, yes it is ok in the dark but not if anyone's searching for you with light. you need actual camouflage, something that breaks your outline so people searching for you, day or night, with or without light, never actually see the figure of a person. finding someone wearing black is easy mode

you need a ghillie suit, they make different colours and for different seasons. collect em all!

Get some netting material, stuff grass or leaves in the holes of it according to your current environment and drape it over yourself or your shelter
Easy as that. Wear dark colored brown green or grey clothing, but not "LOOK AT ME I'M CAMOUFLAGED" clothing, then camo yourself up to match your surroundings when you stop to camp or whatever

You can't go wrong with earth tones. Olives, dark browns, etc. A little black is fine but wearing all black isn't a good idea.

a camouflage that works for everything is not really possible unless you make a adaptive camouflage.
winter camo works best in winter
desert camo works in deserts, and mountains sometimes
winter camo does not work in the desert
desert camo does not work in a pine forest
and so on....

also, wear pants that are a lighter shade than your shirt/jacket. this is important, because your legs will typically be more shadowed than your top half. self shadowing makes you appear more 3 dimensional and thus easier to spot. wearing lighter shades on less illuminated areas of your body is a good way to counter act this.
also, sweaters are good because the light gets scattered through the fabric which makes self shadowing less obvious.

cont. if you want to take my shadowing concept to its logical conclusion, try buying some khaki coveralls and put em on a mannquein 100% t posed, then get a spray bottle with dark green dye and spray it all over from on top of a step ladder (if you dont have all that stuff, then too bad nigger). the result will be a garment where the typically shadowed areas (light from the sun / moon comes from directly above on average) will be a light khaki, and the typically illuminated areas will be a dark green - great camouflage

It's not. In the dark everything looks dark and a color that would blend in during daytime would do that also at night. Black in the dark looks just blacker.
Only real issue here to consider is night vision gear and how the inks used work with that.

well, if you're wearing black you'll be able to hide in the dark a lot better than you would in daylight, unless there's decent moonlight or someone's searching for you with a flashlight. still, like i said, it's not as good as camo even at night

i got a back pack with molly, if i want to camo it i just take leafs and crap from the terrain and stick it in the loops.
best way is a base layer with highlight and lowhights built on top, no straight lines.

recoloring MARPAT which in itself is a recolor of CADPAT did not cost 5billion. But I would believe that it was applied to 5billion of equipment.
