A local told me that the window to hike up to the lake without specialized winter equipment was closing and would probably close when they got another significant snowfall. They got significant snowfall that same night.
But hey, don't let me discourage you. If you're properly equipped and experience, you could probably do it. Even if you are unable to go to Nambe, there's a lot of really worthwhile trails around the area at slightly lower elevations.
