In some countries they move from one location to another one after one shot or a night that is x00km away and don't say that but make it appears as if they just walked for a few hours. Difficult to say for most countries obviously but in Namibia it was easy for a friend of mine to tell the different locations instantly, though some looked rather similar to me.
The raw eating is obviously real and sometimes Gryll is saying that he got sick in the past due to some parasites from raw meat, I think at least in the case of uncooked crabs. I don't doubt that.
He is probably sleeping most of the time in a tent with a sleeping bag and a camping mat and not in his huts. Sometimes he is saying when the crew has helped him build a raft or a shelter. I think they always help him, that stuff takes time.
I would really like to know, whether they were in crocodile infested waters in episode 2-10 in western Sumatra: 'Ring of Fire - Jungle Swamp'. According to Wikipedia (pic related), Saltwater crocodiles could have been there but they didn't tell the shooting location exactly so who knows. I would have been uncomfortable mudding in crocodile infested waters desu.
