I thru hiked the Line Star trail. I don’t think it can be done without food drops, and desu it’s not really worth it. It’s great if you just want to spend a few days in the woods though. Some sections are pretty nice. It’s what you’d expect for SE Texas.

Backpacking can be tough, but enjoyable. I've done part of the 4C trail near Crockett, it was pretty nice. Central Texas is amazing, but you kind of have to hop around; make it more of a road trip than a camping trip. Big Bend is one of the top places to go in the US, if you can make the time and effort.
