Any KY deer hunters here?

I'm trying to get into deer hunting here, I have the gun and the practice but I'm not gonna be ready to go until next year. I've got a load of questions, but the Biggest problem I'm having is finding where to actually go hunt. I'm western KY near Bowling Green, I've been reading up on public WMA areas since I don't know anyone with a lot I can rent. It says online that the shoreline of Nolan and Barren River lakes are open, but I mostly see private land and I don't know what specific areas I'm supposed to go to. I appreciate any advice someone in this area could give.
