If you're backpacking, you'll have to drag an ultra-heavy tent, and also need enough daylight to set up camp and gather firewood for your hot tent stove.
With my 3-season in snow I only make 1-1.5 miles per hour, and keep in mind there's much less daylight time in winter.
Better spend your money on a good sleeping bag+pad and then pack some handwarmers on your neck to stay warm
