Secondly, you're fundamentally misunderstanding what the CHAZ/CHOP, and anarchism as a whole, are. These are essentially Burning Man: A controlled period of chaos put on as a religious ritual by the middle and upper crust of society. I mean this literally, US history is filled with faggy Puritans (Social Justice is just the latest form of Puritanism) running off to start their own communities. They never work out. The only planned communities that work are the ones NOT started by Puritans. Chautauqua is the literal ancestor of Burning Man (sex, drugs, and rock and roll, in tents).
They aren't SUPPOSED to be sustainable anymore than a theater play is. There's a distinct end (when everyone gets bored). It's also explicitly pro-system. It is a reinforcement of and a demonstration of the system's goals. It's the American equivalent of parading a statue of Mary through the town square. Doing it innawoods would be pointless, no one would see it.
