ITT: You recommend me good hoodies to go innawoods.

I'd love to find a hoodie that could be used for layering but can also stand on its own. I'm in eastern Canada, so a fabric that's warm and resistant to water and wind is pretty much a must. I'd use it for general innawoods and outdoor activities: foraging (so yeah, big pockets are cool), biking. camping, hunting, chilling by the fire, etc.

The TAD Ranger LT seems like a good choice, but I was wondering if there would be other choices, but it's a bit expensive, so cheaper alternatives are welcome. Thanks!

On a kinda related note: Is Merino wool worth the price? I never tried it and I wanted to know if it was actually expensive for a reason.
