>>1939753If you’re on a forum that talks about cars, it’s almost always theoretical bullshit. “My car would be so fast if I installed a upper charger,” “the new Chevy is better than the new Ford because reasons,” “what’s the best vehicle for specific purpose?” Places like fit follow the same model, with people giving advice based on a thing they’ve heard.
Real-world experience on a lot of forums clashes with actual experience. Visit any old PUA forum and you’ll see a steady stream of people claiming to have scored 8/10’s. Go to fit and everyone is squatting 315. Respectable numbers, to be sure. But it’s all fictitious. We all start somewhere. Go to any bar or even a restaurant (or just leave your moms house) and you’ll see guys dating 5/10’s. Actually go to a gym and you’ll see people not squatting at all. Visit an outdoor forum and there are just as many threads of people doing 10 mile weekend hikes as there are weeklong expeditions.
Outdoor forums are unique in that it’s based almost entirely on real world experience. If you come here with a story about how you climbed Mt. Rainier (the 8/10, 315lb squat of the mountain world) people will ask questions and know right off the bat that you’re full of shit. This isn’t always a circle jerk of larpers. You actually have to participate for your opinion to matter. In that regard it’s the least soi infused sun on 4Chan.
