I drove from Hays, KS north to I-80 then west to Wyoming last June. Absolutely beautiful area with the most lush deep green fields I had ever seen. I probably drove though after some good rain because the satellite imagery shows the area as very arid. There were a few little state parks and such I would have loved to visit if I wasn’t in such a rush. I-80 runs along the Platte river which has lots of recreational opportunities. I hope you like fishing because there are tons of lakes.
