You know, I’ve been on plenty of hiking/camping trips. Appalachian trail, Coloradan trails, some Midwestern dunes, with a bunch of beautiful sights, sunsets, sunrises and sounds you’d only get from nature. But for me, nothing beats South Cumberland State Park in east Tennessee. Fiery gizzard trail is one of the most naturally wonderful places I’ve been to, and I’ve gotten to jump into this waterfall here with some friends, it was the most fun I’ve had camping. Water was a bit nippy but it’s easy to get used to especially with it being as clear as it was, easier to see underwater than a chlorine pool. Even though I actually almost fell off a 40 foot cliff into a shallow creek had I not been been caught by an exposed tree root, I don’t think I would’ve been upset if my final moments were spent there. If you haven’t been, go.
