Theodore roosevelt preserve in jacksonville is my favorite hiking spot. Actually has hills, from being on the intercoastal. Ocala national forest is fun as well.

go out and collect nuts like pecans, pines, hickories, etc
thats what im going to be spending a few days/weeks doing
might even collect some acorns from white oaks
going to be planting a lot of fall/winter crops this month too

i live on the northwestern panhandle and its all fucking hills here
always makes me laugh when people think florida is all flat

Check out some springs, it's more of a summer activity, but there are a bunch of them and they're a lot of fun to free dive.

Pic related is Ginnie Springs. The spot in the middle goes down about 15 feet to the opening to a cave which opens up and goes down another 40 or so feet to the beginning of the underwater cave system.

the elevations in my area actually fluctuate decently, some of it is quite a bit under sea level whereas some goes up to around 3-400 feet above sea level

A mad man I tell you that. If my family did not have ties to this place I would have set fire to all of it long ago.

Everything in Florida wants to kill you. I work in a morgue. Do you know how many people rot into there linoleum because they left a window open in this god forsaken humidifier of a habitat?

I could leave a fresh corps out in a field in the woods and this godless place would eat it whole short of a week.

Down to the bones.

I don't know how you could enjoy that. It's nice when it's cold. But it's never cold but for 2 weeks.

i was raised in florida innawoods and my nearest neighbor was miles away
its pretty nice actually and its all i really know
only ever seen snow in real life maybe 5 or 6 times(most of them out of state)
it snowed here last year but it happens very rarely(last time before that was 16 years ago)
not a fan of the midday heat during the summer but thats alright, bugs are terrible though i agree with you
