>>1949615If you haven't winter hiked before do some smaller ones first so you don't get stuck and die, there's always some dummy who freezes to death every year cause they saw a dusting in the valley and assumed it would be like that at the top. Look up how to layer properly and bring extra gloves/socks. You can rent snowshoes at ADK Loj if you don't want to buy them. If you haven't hiked in the high peaks at all before maybe wait until summer unless you've done comparable sized stuff in VT/NH.
