>>1959181Ok, then tell me how several trails near me (which were previously empty most of the time) had massive upticks in hiker traffic right after being listed on AllTrails?
>>1959768>assumes I never go off the trail or deep into the woodsI shouldn't be limited to those types of outings (which often aren't very scenic in the Eastern U.S.) if I want to avoid crowds. Solitude was MUCH easier to find in the days before AllTrails and social media ruined everything.
>>1960247How about this, slick? You allow handtied rural counties to form our own states with lower taxes, fewer regulations, more freedom, less corruption, and more political representation and you can do whatever the fuck you want in your urban hellholes that people are fleeing. Just don't ask for a bailout when your precious cities go bankrupt.
>>1960621From a climbing/mountaineering perspective, Elbert is easy because it's a Class 1 "walk-up" with no technical climbing or even scrambling.
From a hiking/AllTrails perspective, I'd say it's on the higher end of moderate or lower end of difficult with nearly 1,000 feet of gain/mile on the ascent, multiple steep slopes / false summits, and higher altitude to contend with for those of us who don't live in Colorado.
I have no problem with the "hard" rating since AllTrails users are typically shittier hikers with less experience based on their reviews ("omg, hardest hike of my life but totally worth it" on trails that are only moderate). Your average AllTrails user would probably turn back before summiting any 14er besides the two you can drive up.
