depends, if it's warm (for chicago suburbs, lol), I'll use a military surplus poncho and woobie, anything colder and I'm using a military sleeping bag or an ultralight one, depending on where I am

either a reflective type sleeping roll or an inflatable ultralight one. inflatable ones are better for comfort IMO, reflective ones are smaller and pack light though, and are durable. all down to preference.
