Susntain and burn thin dry pieces of wood, as fire burns bring in bigger and bigger pieces, the burning fire will dry out the new wood and it'll burn.
Also, you can bring your own coal or alcohol since you know you'll make a fire.
Did you think our ancestors died each automn? Rain makes it harder to build a fire but it doesn't prevent, unless you mean torrential rain buk then not even your gas stove, alcohol stove or whatever you'll end advocating, will work.
