A tight weave cotton canvas is pretty durable depending on the weight of the fabric and can be waxed for some weather resistance or left unwaxed for breathability. Poly/cotton or nylon/cotton combinations are a good option as well.
Cordura fabrics are amazing at resisting abrasion, both classic and ballistic weave, but you'd want a backing material for comfort unless you're going with heavy layers underneath. Otherwise any high denier nylon or polyester with ripstop and/or a good weave should perform similarly. Sometimes tough to find these fabrics uncoated though, as they often have a polyurethane coating on the back.
Or you could always go with a lightweight, tight weave poly or nylon with stretch and just reinforce key areas that will be taking the brunt of the abrasion.

Me and my friends have tried all sorts of brands and designs, aluminum and titanium always buckle, bend, bow, heat unevenly and cooking any sort of proper meal ends up being annoying. Plus, you can't really put them on the fire and it's quite nice to have that as an option.
I always go back to my stainless steel cookware despite the heft.
