I'm interested in living off the land in Alaska. What attracts me to Alaska are the subsistence hunting laws in rural Alaska, the huge tracts of untouched land, and the fact that you don't have to pay property taxes on land in some boroughs.

The way I would like to live is by consuming as little as possible. I think Alaska is one of the few places left that allows for that, whereas in most places it's expected that you have internet among other things.

I'm 19 and looking to start college this year, I am wondering what skills I should look to acquire, and what things I should plan to bring with me. I am planning to do this long-term, and without an income? How possible is this?
