You probably want something larger, but I have been very happy with the Esee, it holds an edge well all week, better than mid range stainless like my CRKTs and Kershaw, and the craziest thing is how sharp it gets after pulling it through this little sharpener 2-3 times. I think the carbon steel is tougher than stainless if you want to baton or try to pry some shit with it. Plus fixed blade means no loose fasteners like folders.
I hate sleeping on the ground, but if I were to be on my own for some days, I would probably get down on a slightly larger Esee, one of those little sharpeners, and the Leatherman of your choice, Wave is a good one.
