I went to the Maclaren Glacier in Alaska. If something happened at the farthest point away from civilization, one of us would have had to run 4 miles back to the wall tent, grab what they needed from the rest of their gear, run 10 miles down the river (a spaghetti mess of streams and rivers), tell someone at the lodge to send a helicopter which probably would have came from Anchorage and take 6ish hours there and back.
I also did the Bowron Lake Circuit in Canada. It's an 80 mile square of lakes in B.C. about 600 miles north of Washington State. We were pretty fucking far out there. Would have been quite the journey if someone got fucked.
