Here's one near me - two 5 day walks with a break day at a 1-shop town in the middle.
You stop in for fuel.
"Sorry mate, we're out of gas, nothing until next week."
"Fuck. Got any petrol?"
"Nah, that's finished too - snow closed the roads.."
"Bugger. Hey, could I come by later and get 1L of your lawnmower fuel? I'll give you $5."
You see how this could be useful in the real world?
I'm not saying gas is shit.
I'm just saying options are better.
And in this instance, cheaper over the life of the stove.
You can even use unleaded all the time - what's that cost per gallon in the US? Fuck all, that's what.
Not relevant to this post, but the fuel is light too, less than 75% the weight of water.
