I also enjoy mountaineering. The farthest I could go however, would be to summit Denali or Kili in a two week timespan. I'm bound to a job, to pay my bills. Like everyone else. If I wanted to climb any of the 14, I would have to quit my job to have enough time to do it. Look at the winter expeditions they're doing on K2 right now. They've been on there for what, two months already? At that point, you need sponsorships, Instagram levels of fame and money, all of that shit, to support your time on the mountain. Same thing for polar expeditions, hiking the Great Western Loop, fuck even the people that hike the PCT. It's always rich trust fund babbies or "look at me" e-celebs, because, at the end of the day, those are the only ones who can afford it.
