The issue you’re having is moisture being trapped inside of your tent, most likely from your own breath but possibly ambient humidity as well. Since the inside of your tent is warm, the moisture condenses onto a cooler surface and freezes. The only solution is to let moisture out of your tent via vents. People using tarps or hammocks rather than tents never have this issue because their shelters are very open, allowing the temperature on both side of the tarp to equalize.
Four season tents are designed to hold up to a heavy load of snow and high winds; you probably don’t need one.
