what books do you guys read? looking for stuff to read while I'm camping this spring, I've heard about the missing 411 series and enjoyed walden.

The Darwath Trilogy is a fantasy/adventures series that I read years ago, kept me entertained on an otherwise pretty boring trip.
Two modern day people get time-warped to a medieval fantasy but it's actually done pretty creatively. Magic, but no elves. They're from the early 80s but they got republished this year so should be easier to find.

Above are the things I've read in no particular order recently. Paper when realistic, ebooks otherwise (or when i dont want to pay for an actual book).
Been wanting to read the following that are in my queue.

God Emperor of Dune
Seven Pillars of Wisdom
12 Rules for Life
Conquest for Bread
Gulag Archipelago

The religious texts are the easiest to read while out, because you can go to specific verses that are particularly profound to you. Easy to skim and get enjoyment out of. I tried to read the philosophy books only while out. Easy to do for unabomber, harder for technological slavery.

Cringe as it may be, Industrial Society and It's Future is a good read. It's not related directly to the outdoors but the parts about the power process and surrogate activity are good reads for people more interested in primitive life and self sustainability.

Also, The Conquest of Bread is, shall we say, very pie-in-the-sky. Let me summarize it for you quickly: "People are very good and will all play nicely together, except for the people who aren't very nice, but they won't want to be around the good people, and if that doesn't work, everyone will just sort of say no to them, so don't worry about that."

If you have access to any sort of news, you know that this isn't true.
