Okay, it's my first night out but I forgot to bring a back up propane tank for the lantern and I need to cut more wood before I go to sleep... I can hear wolves howling...
I'm gonna run out of light soon

This is a good thread. Looks comfy. Use your phone flashlight to look for wood and shut off the lantern conserve the propane for awhile put it as low as it can go.

The stove was separate
68 bucks from princess auto
Tent was 159 off Amazon and came with stove jack
Most tents are insanely expensive and most stoves are too. This was was priced really well. Tent was pretty well priced too

Hey are you that anon in southern ontario? You should cut some pine boughs and line the bottom of your shelter with it. Sort of lay them out on top of each other like feathers, it insulates you from the ground and pats down to a nice floor for the tent.

Stove is working great butnitnhests the air in the top of the tent so much and not really the floor where I am. If I'm sitting in a stool I'm suuuupee warm but while laying down it's just alright.

You need more pine boughs, should have a solid 6"-8" AFTER its been trampled down. That's why it's cold at the bottom of your tent becasue the cold is radiating up from the ground.

I'm alive but I have a head ache. Felt so nauseous from breathing in so much smoke. Everytime I fell asleep the fire burnt out and I had to start a new one with the embers and it was so smokey. I had to either open the door and get cold or close the door and be warm get breath in smoke. My boogers were jet black in the morning. Tbh, the stove isnt big enough for a long lasting fire and it makes sleeping a pain in the butt. Propane heaters are probably the way to go desu senpai

It's easy to collect them. When you put them down put the stems into the snow and do them all the same direciton like feathers. Trust me it works I've camped a lot in winter in southern ontario

Alright OP, You did good. Now after you get home, get your gear put way, get a shower and a nap, think about, and share if you want, what you would have done different, to make your experience better. When I was starting out I would get 1 new piece of gear every trip. Big or small depending on my cash situation. I would usually get my inspiration from my thoughts just after a trip while it was still fresh in my mind.
