Hey, I currently live in the suburbs and I'm looking to start a rural lifestyle. What entry points are there for somebody like me? I'm willing to learn whatever skills are necessary, but I have no knowledge of what skills are needed in rural communities.

Get a degree that's applicable in an agricultural field, get into blue collar tradeslave work, or go become a factory worker at one of America's many factories that are in small towns or in the middle of nowhere. Any of those will lead you to a rural area, with just enough money to keep your head above water. Familiarize yourself with the term "rural poor", because you're most likely going to be it.

There's colleges in morgantown and elkins and I'm sure you could find someone to help you learn a trade locally.

Ah look, another poster who is Based and West Virginia Pilled. I wouldn't suggest Morgantown just because WVU fags act like animals around football season. Other than that, yeah, rural life can be pretty good here. Watch out for methheads, but if you go rural enough, that shouldn't be an issue.

The trucks aren't just for decoration, anon. I suggest you get a good 4 wheel drive vehicle. Especially if you're going to end up somewhere that gets snow. Learn maintenance on it and how to adapt it for weather. Transportation is real important out here. Also learn how to shoot.

I recently did this I got a job then moved to a town of 1.4k after my friend did it 6 months prior with another coming. All in different careers within agriculture I came in with no exp. The land is some of the best in australia too mountains with waterfalls everything is lush and green we used to live in a city of 5 million.

I feel like if I can do it anyone can because I was NEET for a year after being a nurse im earning about 80% of what I did working shifts but my weeks vary from 20-38 hours per week and the guy constantly feeds me he gets me bags of fresh oysters and giant fruit all the time it's pretty based. All I did was call a guy and ask for work no resume and now I'm looking to buy 50+ acres.

Uhhhh, look into state farm programs, the farm bureau website has programs for starting farmers, look at your states farm bureau website or rural development website. You could watch the Goldshaw farm YouTube channel. It's about a D.C. insurance salesman who became a farmer in Vermont and GoPros him and his duck/goose farm. Look through his library.
