Isnt it just 10 grand for the "ticket" ? Add equipment , transport , food etc etc A single expedition cant cost less than 30k .

>Hi, I am 12 years old and my experience climbing Mount Everest was amazing. I got flown to EBC because the trekking conditions were not very good at the time and it was very crowded. I used supplemental oxygen and I had 4 sherpas to help me with my climb. Everyone on the mountain was very nice and encouraging. I left camp 4 at 10 pm to summit push. My group then took a small break at the balcony after 5 excruciating hours. We summited and came down safely. One negative was that the mountain was seriously crowded. Overall, I hope I can encourage you to also climb Mount Everest standing at 29,029 feet above sea level!

The climbing season is pretty limited, plus you end up with multiple expeditions each with numerous climbers, plus the weather forces them to all summit on the same day, which creates this huge backup. Commercial climbing may be a bit disingenuous, but it’s no easy feat to climb Everest. If you haven’t I’d suggest reading Jon Krakauers book about the 1997 disaster, gives a pretty good picture about what it’s actually like.

Where do you think you are?
I don't envy him about climbing Mt Everest however and it could be a fake since he was 12 and the youngest has been 13 (Jordan Romero). Do you think that Mt Everest should be climbed by even more people annually?
