>>1991824If you can camp in your backyard you can camp in the wokds. It’s the exact same thing, only it takes you longer to get home in case of an emergency.
A lot of people on this board seem to over-complicate solo camping. It’s just sleeping in a tent and eating not-refridherated food. It’s not very hard and it’s not dangerous (excluding being eaten by bears, burning down your tent, falling on your knife etc. Try not to do that)
Map and compass skills are important on long trips off path. But you can just stick to a path and then wander off into the woods for a few hundred meters, and you’ll probably be good. Traveling along a valley or with a good view of your surroundings (being able to see where you came from) makes it pretty much idiot proof.
Also, if you can do one night you can do three. You just need more food and water.
