I took a fuck load of pictures on the AT and it all boiled down to like 50-70 likes apiece, big fucking whoop. The reality is if you don't have a good stage presence AND a nice face (Dixie/Darwin, etc) no one will give a fuck, no one is gonna sponsor you unless you CRUSH miles and it's on record or you have nice PUSSSSY.
I think there is something to be said about filling such pursuits and living in the moment. That is one of my goals for my PCT thru, but I also think there is a good aspect to indulging said wants (photos, podcast listening, social media, email checking) good thing service will probably be shit. I miss planning out a day where I could climb a fire tower and find signal for that sweet sweet hentai
It's all just a fucking hamster wheel. I think going oldschool and making photo books for a trip like this is a better use of photography, perhaps make a print if your gear is up to snuff that'd actually be cool and worth a "like"
I've encountered bloggers on the AT and it's 90% cringe. LOVED hiker trash TV but now definitely see how scummy the guy came across after the fact.
