i Saw some in Big Sur. They ARE fucking huge.

Saw cool birds in Africa- bee catchers, storks, malachite Kingfisher was cool so was this- lilac breasted roller

I went to Pinnacles and yeah, they're fucking big. Jacked up my camera settings so no good photos unfortunately.

There was some literal autistic retard playing a fucking jaw harp running around the trail though.

Either Serendib Scops Owl or orange-fronted parakeet/kakariki/Malherbe's parakeet or whatever it's called. Best case scenario both species consist of a few hundred individuals. Not much of a birder, but it's always been a point of interest when I travel, and I've gotten extremely lucky on a few occasions.

Amusingly I only ever tried Hindu Kush in the Netherlands, but I did sample opium.

Random crappy shot of an osprey and a white morph common buzzard throwing a hissy fit. The former, while not rare on a global scale, is a rare visitor in these parts, it was the only one we had in the region last year. Pretty cool.

Yellow heron, bald eagle,
Coral snake(spent life doing the song, finnaly hit killsa fella) All during my time in FL.
They're not exactly rare but seeing them was a treat.

They're not rare, but I felt lucky seeing nighthawks, given that they hang out in specific locations where I live only for about a month or so, and that they're only out at a specific hour. I also happen to like them and their relatives. It was impossible to get a decent picture though given how they hang out high in the air and are difficult to find when they aren't flying

I saw a peregrine falcon last summer. He swooped in, landed on the large feeder for a minute, and then took off. Only time I've ever seen one. Pretty sure he was picking off doves while he was in the neighborhood haha. Kept finding spots with feathers in the yard.

I'll see a bald eagle every once in a while too. They are starting to make a comeback in my area.

Sage grouses getting super horny at a lek, crested caracara in central Florida...and i dont think it should be that rare but I've only ever seen one green heron.

I see great blue herons all the time and I’ve seen a green heron only twice I think.

yea great blue herons not hard to find....that mother fucker is a dinosaur. I lived on canal growing up and we had one that was practically a pet because it would get scraps from any fish we cleaned. Called him big bird...man he was an impressive specimen.

The green heron is quite a 'bute tho. And I'll have to keep an eye out for a little blue - have to be honest i wasn't even aware!
