It takes the average person ten (10) days to acclimate to cool weather but only three days to acclimate to warm weather. And it’s not an on/off switch that’s flipped on the last day. So a single day where the temps are around 70 gets tour body more accustomed to warmer weather, then it drops to the 30’s for several days. And those days around 70 are pretty common.
It was 75° in Austin Monday, and the high today is 35°. That’s not very cold if it’s been 35° for a few weeks, but in a matter of days? I’m from the PNW, and in Texas for work right now (everyone is talking about the weather). It feels colder here.
