This thread reeks of self-righteousness and elitism.
For most of human history adventure was a thing to be avoided. The world was largely unknown and much more dangerous than it is now. Only a few brave souls (who had time and money to waste, I might add) sought adventure, and many of them never came home. Nowadays we have a pretty firm grasp of the dangers of the world and how to avoid them, as well as the leisure time and luxury money to go on adventures. If anything, more people have a sense of adventure than ever, and more of them are fulfilling it.
Most people seek adventure, just not outdoors. The majority of people (at least in the first-world) aren't raised to appreciate the wild, so they won't seek adventure within it. Instead they seek adventure in cities, foreign countries, and within their culture. There's a lot to explore and experience within cities and art. The outdoors aren't inherently better for adventure than man-made habitat, just different and (in my opinion) more enjoyable and fulfilling.
The idea that humans are losing their sense of adventure is totally unfounded and untrue.
